Our history

A St-Laurent institution

In 1973, first owners, Maria and Tony, opened their new business, Restaurant Du Collège. Located at the corner of Decarie Boulevard and Du Collège Street, the restaurant quickly became a staple for the community in the St-Laurent borough. In addition to serving residents and students, the restaurant welcomed many workers from surrounding large companies and industries that were once very numerous in the area. In 2008, the reins of Restaurant Du Collège were handed over to the current owners, Jill and Yvo, who would bring a wind of change to this well established name.

An always evolving St-Laurent institution

Before being acquired by Jill and Yvo, the St-Laurent institution was a greasy spoon type of place serving hot dogs, fries, burgers, subs and thick-crust pizzas, among other things.

The culinary offerings of Restaurant Du Collège have therefore changed over the years as it now features an extensive menu of Italian, Mediterranean and typical Canadian dishes, including a wide choice of healthy and some still not-so-healthy fare. Over the generations, the restaurant continues to appeal to customers of all ages and culinary preferences.

The restaurant that saw the birth of the metro station

Extensively renovated and updated in 2014, this St-Laurent institution has not only experienced change to its own premises over the years.

On the contrary, the restaurant has also witnessed a significant change to the neighbourhood: the birth of a metro station. Directly across from the restaurant, the Du Collège metro station (named after Collège de St-Laurent, now the Cégep St-Laurent) was constructed, having its grand inauguration in 1984. Little known, during its construction, Restaurant Du College welcomed the workers who came out from underground to eat!

The continuity of a warm welcome

Determined to continue this St-Laurent institution, Yvo and Jill strive to offer quality meals that stand out for their freshness and taste while providing a warm and friendly customer experience.

When good taste, good price and good service come together, customers go back because it’s simply delicious!
